December 2019

The Democratic Club will be meeting Monday, December 16 at 7 pm. The location is the upstairs meeting room in the Lexington Park Volunteer Rescue Squad building (next to the library).

Our December Meeting will be a Holiday Party. If you are able, please bring a dish to share. The club will be providing drinks. Join us as we celebrate the coming year!

The agenda is available here. The minutes from our November meeting can be read here.

Democratic Women of St. Mary's

The #IAmStMarys group is a response to the 2018 local election where many highly qualified women candidates did not receive the support they deserved. A highly enthusiastic and actively engaged group attended our first meeting. Please join us at our next meeting on January 8, 2020, at the Lexington Park Library. We will meet at 5:30 for conversation and start the meeting at 6:00.

The 2020 Women's March will take place on January 18. A group is working on securing buses for the march. Watch this space for more information soon!

October Dem Club Meeting

The Democratic Club will be meeting next Monday, Oct. 21 at 7pm. The location is the upstairs meeting room in the Lexington Park Volunteer Rescue Squad building (next to the library). The agenda is available here. Minutes from the September meeting are here.

We are accepting nominations for President and Treasurer of the Club for 2020. If you are interested in either position, or would like to nominate someone else, please email us at

September Gets Busy!

September means back to school and busy schedules, but the St. Mary's Democrats aren't slowing down. We have a lot planned this month and we hope to see you out there:

Sept. 12, 7-11pm: Democratic Presidential Primary Debate Watch Party. We'll gather in a reserved room at Olde Town Pub in Leonardtown to watch the debate and have some fun! All are welcome!

Sept. 16, 6-7pm: Voter Registration Workshop. During the hour before our monthly club meeting, we're offering training for those who'd like to become a voter registration volunteer. To participate, email us ASAP at

Sept. 16, 7-8pm: Democratic Club Meeting. Join us at the Lexington Park Volunteer Rescue Squad for our monthly meeting. You can find the agenda here. Minutes from the August meeting will be posted here as soon as they are available.

Sept. 19-22: St. Mary's County Fair. We need all hands on deck to help at our booth! Even if you can only volunteer for an hour or two, we'd love to have you. Here's the link: St. Mary's County Fair 2019

Sept. 22, 1-5pm. All Democrats are invited to join our friends in Calvert County at their Annual Picnic. The event will be held at Kings Landing Park in Huntingtown. It's free; just be sure to sign up here.

Sept. 28, 10am-1pm: VAN Training. Representatives from the MD Democratic Party will be in St. Mary's to show potential candidates, campaigns, and volunteers how to use the Voter Activation Network. VAN is an awesome tool for reaching voters and it's important to understand how it works. If you'd like to participate in the training, let us know.

That's it for now. Be sure to check our Facebook page for all the latest news and events.
