Believe it or not, we are within 100 days of the election! This is the time when our candidates most need your support -- as they make their final push towards a seat in Washington, Annapolis, or Leonardtown. As the bottom of this blog post you’ll find a list of the local Democratic candidates. Any donation, no matter the size, will help them on their way.

Beyond donations, August if full of opportunities to get more involved:

August 4: Beach Party on the Square in Leonardtown, 4-9 p.m.

The St. Mary’s Democrats will have a booth at this fun, family-friendly event. Stop by to say hello and create a free sand art craft. If you are interested in helping out, please contact Caroline King at [email protected].

August 18: Faye Wheeler Meet & Greet, Brambly Inn, Bushwood, 6:30-10 p.m. Music by Cut Loose Band (Jimmy Strine). Light refreshments; cash bar. $10 at the door; YETI cooler raffle tickets also available.

August 20: Democratic Club Meeting, Lexington Park Volunteer Rescue Squad, 7 p.m.

We will discuss current events and hear updates from our committees. We’ll also be collecting donations of school supplies in support of the NAACP at this meeting.

August 22: Democrats Happy Hour, Pax River Alehouse, 5-7 p.m.

Join the Democratic Club and newly elected Central Committee members for drinks, socializing, and political trivia!

August 26: Howard Thompson’s Back to School BBQ Bash, Bowles Farms, Clements, 1-4 p.m.

Support Howard Thompson, candidate for County Commissioner President, at this big fundraising event. Hot dogs, hamburgers, BBQ, and refreshments will be served. Live auction and live music.
