We hope your summer is off to a great start.

Thank you to all who attended our Skipjack Gala, supported us with donations, or purchased items at the silent auction! It was a wonderful evening of celebrating Democratic accomplishments and looking toward the work we must do in the coming elections. We raised about $2,000 to help get Democrats elected over the next few years.

The Democratic Club will meet Monday, June 17, 7-8pm, at the Lexington Park Volunteer Rescue Squad. Topics of discussion will include a new women's group, upcoming presidential debates, and even T-shirts! To view the agenda, click here.

Democratic Central Committee

Vacancy Announcement

The Democratic Central Committee is seeking to fill a vacancy on the Committee. Because the Committee must be gender-balanced, this position is open only to male applicants. To be eligible for consideration, an individual must be male and a registered Democrat voter in St. Mary's County. This is an unpaid position. The successful applicant will serve out the remainder of the current term, which ends in June 2022.

Interested individuals may apply by submitting a resume to Shane Mattingly, Chair, at [email protected]. The deadline to apply is Friday, April 19, 2019.

Interviews will be scheduled subsequent to the review of submissions. The Committee will hold a vote to select the new member at its regular public meeting on Monday, May 20, 2019. The meeting will be held at 5:30 p.m. at the Lexington Park Volunteer Rescue Squad, 21685 FDR Blvd., Lexington Park, MD 20653.

Democratic Club Meeting

Earth Day on the Square

The St. Mary's Democrats will participate in the Town of Leonardtown's annual Earth Day celebration on Sunday, April 14. We will need volunteers to help set up, work our table, and take everything down at the end. Be on the lookout for a signup soon.

Skipjack Gala

The Democratic Central Committee will host its biggest fundraiser of the year on the evening of Friday, May 31 at Olde Breton Inn in Leonardtown. More details forthcoming!

Help STILL Needed

The Democratic Club is urgently in need of people to step up and be a part of the Events Committee and Communications Committee. The Events Committee will work with the Democratic Central Committee to coordinate and rally volunteers for events sponsored by the DCC, as well as help organize club-sponsored events. The Communications Committee will assist with the Democrats' website, social media, and email newsletter to promote club events and activities.
