September Gets Busy!

September means back to school and busy schedules, but the St. Mary's Democrats aren't slowing down. We have a lot planned this month and we hope to see you out there:

Sept. 12, 7-11pm: Democratic Presidential Primary Debate Watch Party. We'll gather in a reserved room at Olde Town Pub in Leonardtown to watch the debate and have some fun! All are welcome!

Sept. 16, 6-7pm: Voter Registration Workshop. During the hour before our monthly club meeting, we're offering training for those who'd like to become a voter registration volunteer. To participate, email us ASAP at [email protected].

Sept. 16, 7-8pm: Democratic Club Meeting. Join us at the Lexington Park Volunteer Rescue Squad for our monthly meeting. You can find the agenda here. Minutes from the August meeting will be posted here as soon as they are available.

Sept. 19-22: St. Mary's County Fair. We need all hands on deck to help at our booth! Even if you can only volunteer for an hour or two, we'd love to have you. Here's the link: St. Mary's County Fair 2019

Sept. 22, 1-5pm. All Democrats are invited to join our friends in Calvert County at their Annual Picnic. The event will be held at Kings Landing Park in Huntingtown. It's free; just be sure to sign up here.

Sept. 28, 10am-1pm: VAN Training. Representatives from the MD Democratic Party will be in St. Mary's to show potential candidates, campaigns, and volunteers how to use the Voter Activation Network. VAN is an awesome tool for reaching voters and it's important to understand how it works. If you'd like to participate in the training, let us know.

That's it for now. Be sure to check our Facebook page for all the latest news and events.

July News

Happy July! We hope you took some time to celebrate Independence Day with family and friends, and are enjoying these long summer days. If you are in town next Monday, please join us for our next meeting.

The Democratic Club will meet Monday, July 15, 7-8pm, at the Lexington Park Volunteer Rescue Squad. Our guest speaker will be Delegate Brian Crosby. We'll also be collecting school supplies for the NAACP's Back to School event. Besides monetary donations, they are in need of school supplies (notebooks, paper, pencils, pens, crayons, folders, and book bags for all ages). More information can be found here: https://www.stmarysnaacp.org/back-to-school-fair.html
